Apple’s New OSX – Mountain Lion

Apple has released a developer version (not out for the public yet) of their upcoming OS for their Mac product line.  It is named Mountain Lion and is scheduled to come out Late Summer 2012.  An article from our friends at MacRumors.com previews the new features and shows us what exciting things we’ll see this year that will make our Mac’s work a little more like our iPhone’s on iOS5.  What’s our favorite feature so far?  The new Messaging app that replaces iChat and will tie all of our i-devices together.

New Hillsong United Album!!! – Live in Miami

One of our favorite praise & worship bands is the world renowned Hillsong United.  We attended this tour in Columbus and it was the most experiential event that we’ve ever been to.  To see a good review about it, info on the songs, and YouTubes from their performances at the Passion 2012, click this link.

New Church Website Tool – Church Online Platform Launches, It’s Free and It’s Awesome!

The good people at LifeChurch.tv have given so many great things to the greater church. From creating the most used mobile Bible in the world, to a resource site that gives away everything they create for other churches to use, LifeChuch.tv exemplifies a giving spirit.

Today they launched the Church Online Platform. After looking at the tour you will see that this is awesome!

Here is a quick hit list of what is included:

  • Event Scheduling
  • Theme Customization
  • Slide Rotation when Offline
  • Multi-Language Chat
  • Social Integration
  • Prayer Requests
  • Works with any Video Service
  • Mobile Device Ready
  • Localized for Global Usage

It looks like the Online Church Platform will link up to a subdomain of your current site, so you can point your church to live.mychurch.com or churchonline.mychurch.com to view your church online experience, and since you can use any video service you aren’t locked into anything long term.

The best part? The platform is FREE! You can find out more information and sign up today at ChurchOnlinePlatform.com

Do you Live stream your Gatherings or services? Will you sign up?

Drop it Like it’s Hot – ProPresenter 5 is Out

Renewed Vision has released an all new version of their church projection software – ProPresenter 5.  We are very stoked about this because PP5 is going to be the most amazing update to projection in the church since the invention of the projector!  We’ve been testing PP5 during beta and it is pure insanity of what it can do.  Take a look at their site to see the features and what’s under the hood.  Got a church that needs a projection upgrade?  THIS IS IT!!!  If you need some training, consulting, or setup help of implementing ProPresenter 5 in your church, Get in Touch and we’ll hook you up.  Now to go upgrade our license and start playing with it!

iPad Video Editing – Avid Studio

iPad Video Editing – Avid Studio

If you have an iPad or iPad 2, you know that there are some amazing apps out there.  Of course, ADH being the media connoisseurs that we are, we love our video and photo editing apps.  Of note, there is a new candidate that entered the App Store today – Avid Studio for iPad.  This app competes with the infamous iMovie for iPad app which has long been the standard for editing (mainly because of it’s prominant name).   We’re unsure of how the Avid Studio app works on the iPad YET - but we believe it will be pretty solid/powerful based on Avid‘s reputation in the video editing industry.  iMovie on the iPad has been criticized for its limiting featureset – not having much control over layers, audio editing, special effects, green screening, etc…  But for a mobile device app for $5, you can’t beat it.  It’s gonna be interesting to see how Avid Studio stacks up against iMovie, especially at the same price!  Avid Studio for iPad is launching with an introductory price tag of $4.99, which will increase to $7.99 after the first month.

Thunderbolt Technology

This past week at Macworld 2012, some new devices equipped with Thunderbolt technology were announced.  If you don’t know what this is, simply google it and you’ll find out (thunderbolt explained).  What do we think it is?  It’s the new USB or Firewire.  It is a new cable and interface that will allow a lot of data transfer for hard drives, video camera’s, and extra desktop monitors.  This is a huge step for multimedia tools.  Take a look at one of our favorite sites MacRumors.com discussing some new devices.

ProPresenter 5 Announced

A huge announcement from Renewed Vision says that ProPresenter 5 is coming out soon.  For those of you who do not know what ProPresenter is, it is a software that runs on Mac or PC which allows media guys to utilize projection of song lyrics, scripture, videos, photos, etc in their church.  Comparable products are EasyWorship, MediaShout, SundayPlus, etc…

I am VERY partial to ProPresenter because of how solid it is with media files, it’s advent on the Mac, and such great support front he company.

Take a look at Renewed Vision’s website to see what they’re brewing up – it’s gonna be insane!
